Our debut series, Toxic Lawn!, can be found on Spotify. Morning, noon and evening, if you live in a US suburb almost anywhere, you will hear the drone of lawnmowers, weed-whackers and leaf blowers. In my neighborhood, it’s literally 7 days a week from April through November. Every few weeks, little yellow flags are posted prominently along most of my neighbor’s yards, indicating the presence of toxic chemicals like insecticides, herbicides and fertilizers. Sometimes, the air in the streets is laden with toxic fumes, causing headaches and sore throats and possibly worse. The level of obsession with the green grass manicured lawn has reached toxic levels. You can subscribe to the podcast series on Spotify or Amazon.
New to the Getting the Word Out podcasts is a new series, called Vassar College Trash Talk. Check it out!
